In a statement sent to the media on Friday (August 21), Hefazat's publicity secretary Mufti Kifayatullah Azhari gave this reaction. The statement noted that the previous day, at a press conference organized by ‘United Ulema-Mashaikh Bangladesh’, objection was also raised to giving Shamim Kaisar the responsibility of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Hefazat claimed that Shamim Kaisar Lincoln believes in an ideology opposed to the country's prevailing pirs and mashaikh, Tabligh Jamaat, and the spirit of the historically established four madhhabs. According to the organization, the responsibility of a sensitive ministry like the Ministry of Religious Affairs should be in the hands of a person who is acceptable to the ulema and respectful of Islamic values.

Hefazat also warned that if the decision is upheld, it could have a negative impact on the government's relationship and trust with the Qawmi ulema community and religious-minded people.

The organization called for revoking the appointment of Shamim Kaisar Lincoln and, through consultation with the ulema, handing over the responsibility of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to a qualified, experienced, and universally acceptable person.
