State minister for foreign affairs calls Sheikh Hasina 'terrorist'

He said this in response to journalists' questions after paying tribute to the brave martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar on Saturday (August 22) afternoon.

Regarding bringing back Sheikh Hasina and others staying in India, the state minister said a process must be followed through discussion with the country to bring back criminals who have fled to India. He also commented that this is a natural demand of the people of Bangladesh.

Regarding relations with India, Humayun Kabir said Bangladesh wants positive and effective relations with India. However, relations with any country will not be conducted by compromising national interests.

Regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's India visit, he said a decision on the visit will be made only after reaching consensus based on national interests. The visit may take place next week as well, but there is no hurry. It is important to complete necessary discussions and preparations before the visit of the prime ministers of the two countries.
