The program was held at St. Rita's School in the upazila at 11 am on Saturday (22 August). A brief discussion meeting was held in the school's hall room at the beginning. The school's head teacher Father Pius Gomes and former president of Chatmohar Press Club Rokibur Rahman Tukun spoke at the meeting. The program was conducted by teacher Mitu Chandra Maria.
Later, the program was formally inaugurated by planting saplings on the school premises. Under the program, a total of 1,500 fruit, timber and medicinal plant saplings were distributed among various institutions and students, and they were urged to plant them.
Present at the event were teachers Azharul Islam, Nurul Islam and Rita Pirich, Yugantor representative Pabitra Talukdar, Samakal representative Shamim Hasan Milon, Kaler Kantho representative Abdul Latif Ranju, Protidiner Bangladesh representative Sanjib Chakraborty, social workers Mehedi Hasan Sujan, Sajib Humayun, Khademul Haque, among others.
