Goal to build trillion-dollar economy by 2034: Science and Technology Minister

Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam made this remark at a networking meeting held at Sheraton in Dhaka on Monday (August 24). He called for the active participation of the private sector, industrial entrepreneurs and researchers in the fair.

The minister said that without high value-added industries and innovative technologies, it is difficult for Bangladesh to maintain its competitiveness in the global market. To this end, an initiative has been taken to build a complete innovation ecosystem combining innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and government agencies.

He also said the government has formed a special startup fund of Tk 500 crore to commercially utilize the innovative ideas of young people. At the same time, he called on domestic industrial entrepreneurs to invest in high-tech and innovation parks.
