Five local government elections to be held in current fiscal year

On Tuesday (August 25), the deputy minister told journalists this information after a meeting with Danish Ambassador Christian Brix Møller at the Secretariat.

He said, if the prime minister gives permission, the ministry will hold a meeting with the Election Commission next week regarding local government elections. However, the Election Commission will determine the election schedule and voting date.

Meanwhile, the development of Dhaka's water supply system was also discussed in the meeting. Denmark will provide assistance of about Tk 4,500 crore in the third phase of the Sayedabad water treatment plant project. Once the project is implemented, it will be possible to treat 95 crore litres of water from the Meghna River every day, the deputy minister said.
