95 killed, 403 missing in sudden floods and landslides in Nepal

Nepal's Prime Minister's Office has said that 95 bodies have been recovered so far. Search and rescue operations are underway in the affected areas to find the missing.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, among the missing are 61 Nepali and 341 foreign nationals. Among the foreigners, there are 133 from India, 47 from the United States, and 33 from the United Kingdom.

Several areas of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts along the Bhotekoshi River have been the hardest hit. Rescue operations are being hampered as roads, bridges, power connections and other vital infrastructure have been extensively damaged by floods and landslides.

Authorities have said that the operation to rescue survivors has been intensified. However, due to the scale of the disaster, it is feared that the death toll and number of missing could rise further.
