Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin and three election commissioners paid a courtesy call at Bangabhaban to congratulate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the country's 23rd president.
According to the predetermined schedule, the CEC and Election Commissioners Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Anwarul Islam Sarker and Abul Fazal Md. Sanullah met the President around 12:30pm on Thursday.

Earlier, shortly after 11am, they left the Election Building for Bangabhaban.

An Election Commission source said the CEC and the election commissioners went to Bangabhaban to congratulate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as President.
After the nearly half-hour courtesy meeting, they left Bangabhaban.
