Chandpur gold trader Pintu Das detained with family
Chandpur Sadar Model Thana police have detained Chandpur gold trader Pintu Das along with his wife and two sons from the Patiya area of Chattogram.

They were detained during a raid around 5:00 am on Friday (August 28). Police conducted the raid under the leadership of SI Kalam of Chandpur Sadar Model Thana.

Police said Pintu Das and his family went into hiding, and their location was identified based on secret information. Later, a raid was carried out in the Patiya area and he and his family members were detained.

SI Kalam said they were detained after a continuous two-day operation. It has been initially learned that Pintu Das went into hiding with his family mainly due to debt pressure. The process of bringing him to Chandpur is underway. 

Earlier, anxiety had grown in the area as Pintu Das, his wife Rimi, and their two sons Priyam and Rupam could not be found. Several customers had also accused Pintu Das of not returning mortgaged gold.
