India may visit Bangladesh in January

An Indian media outlet ANI, citing a BCCI source, has said that discussions are underway between the Indian board and the government regarding hosting the limited-overs series between the two countries. Meanwhile, the BCB is also looking for a new timeframe to host the series early next year.

The source said the India-Bangladesh series is likely to take place in January.

Earlier, India's tour of Bangladesh was scheduled for August 2025, but it was later moved to September 2026. According to the schedule, three ODIs and three T20Is were to be played in Dhaka and Chattogram.

However, new complications have arisen in the plan to host the series between September 1 and 13. During the same period, India will play a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

All things considered, the chances of the India-Bangladesh series taking place in September have decreased. Whether the series ultimately goes ahead in January remains to be seen.
