Malaysia's Home Ministry said that through a diplomatic note from the Myanmar government, the identities of those scheduled to be sent back in the first phase have been confirmed. Two Myanmar Navy ships and one hospital ship are planned to be used for the repatriation.

Malaysia plans to repatriate 5,000 Myanmar nationals
Necessary coordination has been completed among Malaysia's Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministries as well as the National Security Council for this operation.
The government said that 4,008 Myanmar nationals who have claimed refugee status in 2026 will be brought under the refugee registration programme. Meanwhile, another 5,000 people who wish to return voluntarily will be sent back to Myanmar in phases.
