Two journalists beaten for filming open-book exam

The incident occurred on Friday (August 28) during the English first paper examination of the first year of the degree course under Bangladesh Open University at Kazipur Degree College in Gangni upazila.

The journalists who were attacked are Rabbi, Meherpur correspondent of Nagorik Television and Bangladesh Betar, and Tariq, representative of Dainik Khaborer Kagoj.

According to the victims, they went to the centre and started recording video after learning that examinees were taking the exam with books open. At that time, they were attacked by some teachers and examinees. Later, they had to receive treatment at the hospital.

Gangni police station Officer-in-Charge Md. Muhaddid Morshed Chowdhury said the incident would be investigated and action would be taken against those involved according to law.
