He said these things while exchanging views with journalists after the conference of party unit presidents in Chauddagram, Cumilla on Friday (August 28).

Mia Golam Parwar said, regarding implementation of the July Charter, BNP and various political parties had signed. Although the elected government was supposed to implement it within 180 days, the government is now moving away from it. Noting that 180 days will be completed by September, he called for swift steps to implement the charter. Otherwise, he warned of deciding to launch an agitation with the people.

Alleging partisanisation against the government in various sectors, he said local government institutions and development activities are being partisanised, which is unconstitutional. He also remarked that if the opportunity to elect public representatives through local government elections is given, people's sufferings will decrease.

The Jamaat leader also criticised the government over the law and order situation. He claimed there is no visible development in the country; rather, clashes among ruling party people are being seen in various places. He also alleged discrimination in development allocations in the areas of opposition Members of Parliament.

Criticising the responsibility given to reserved women Members of Parliament to oversee development in the areas of opposition MPs, Mia Golam Parwar said elected MPs should be given the opportunity to lead development activities in their respective areas.
