At the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on examining the 'Prevention and Remedy of Enforced Disappearance Bill, 2026' and submitting a report to Parliament. At the end of the discussion, it was decided to send the bill to Parliament. The committee thanked the concerned ministry for taking the initiative to formulate and table the bill to prevent and remedy enforced disappearance.

Second meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs held
Committee members Md. Nurul Islam and Md. Abdul Baten walked out of the meeting. In this regard, the committee chairman said that if there were any amendments or opinions, there was an opportunity to present them, provide advice, and, if necessary, oppose them. However, walking out of the meeting is not within parliamentary norms.
At the meeting, it was said that no extrajudicial killings had taken place in the country in the last six months. During the same period, although attempts were made to form mobs, no political persecution occurred. It was also mentioned at the meeting that law enforcement agencies had not used excessive force to control the law and order situation.

The meeting also discussed that an attempt was being made to put the blame for Miraj Sheikh's abduction on the government. Members expressed the opinion that such politics of blaming, or the 'blame game', should be avoided.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam, National Parliament Whip Rokibul Islam, Whip Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, Shirin Sultana, Md. Nurul Islam and Md. Abdul Baten.
In addition, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the Inspector General of Police, the Director Generals of departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs, heads of concerned agencies, and officials of the National Parliament Secretariat were present.
