US giving Bangladesh $2.4 million in medical equipment
The release said that at Panchagarh District Hospital, US Ambassador Brent T. Christensen handed over maternal and newborn health care training models to Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman.
Under this US assistance, equipment for keeping newborns warm and assisting breathing, special food for children suffering from severe malnutrition, and necessary supplies for maintaining vaccine effectiveness are included.

With US funding, these equipment are being delivered to various hospitals and health centers, including remote areas of the country, through FHI 360, JHPIEGO, JSI and UNICEF.
The US Embassy said that through this assistance, initiatives are being implemented to further strengthen Bangladesh's health system on the basis of evidence-based partnership, as well as advance US innovation in the health sector.
The release also stated that the United States is committed to working with the Government of Bangladesh to expand access to quality health services across the country.
