He said this as the chief guest in a coordination meeting on law and order, drug control, ensuring good governance, transparency and accountability, and implementation of the election manifesto held at the conference room of Mymensingh district administration on Monday (August 31). The meeting was presided over by Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Md. Saifur Rahman.
Government committed to people-friendly work: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister
The minister said that to work for the welfare of the people, people's representatives and government officials and employees have to perform their duties from their respective positions. For this, everyone has to make some sacrifices if necessary.
He said that along with improving the law and order situation of the district, ensuring drug control, good governance, transparency and accountability, the administration and public representatives will have to work collectively to implement the election manifesto and make public welfare and development programmes successful.

M Rashiduzzaman Millat said that if the election manifesto is implemented, the people will get their due rights and facilities, and their expectations of the government will also be fulfilled. On the other hand, if duties are not performed properly, the people may lose trust in the government.
Laying emphasis on implementing the ongoing development projects in time with transparency and good governance, he called upon the concerned officials to discharge their duties with sincerity and honesty. He particularly directed them to remain on the highest alert to prevent drugs and smuggling.
In his speech as the president of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Md. Saifur Rahman said that all government departments and law enforcement agencies are working in a coordinated manner to ensure the improvement of the law and order situation in the district and transparency and proper implementation of various development projects. He called upon everyone to work together to further strengthen these activities in the future and fulfill the expectations of the people.
The meeting was attended by heads of concerned departments under the District Development Committee, local public representatives, the City Corporation administrator, dignitaries and media workers.
