He made this call in the speech as the chief guest at a civic reception and rally organized on the occasion of his first visit to Bandarban after taking office as a minister, held at Bandarban Press Club premises on Tuesday (September 1) afternoon, and also marking the 48th founding anniversary of BNP.
Need united efforts to build a peaceful, harmonious and discrimination-free Bandarban: Hill Tracts Minister
The Hill Tracts minister said peaceful coexistence is the main foundation of development in the hill areas. Following the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, equitable distribution of the hills' resources will be ensured. Besides, development of healthcare services, increasing supply of safe drinking water, and government assistance to farmers in cultivating coffee and cashew nuts will continue.
He said he has got the opportunity to represent the people of the hill tracts in parliament and the cabinet through the trust and love of the voters. He also expressed his commitment to build a discrimination-free Bandarban in the bonds of peace, discipline and harmony.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated ‘Hotel Hilli Rainbow Bandarban’ at the junction of Nilachal Road. On his way from Dhaka to Bandarban via Chattogram, people from various areas stood in the rain and welcomed him with flowers.
