Former headmaster dies after being hit by auto-rickshaw in Kushtia
Abdul Latif Malitha (65), a former headmaster, was killed after being hit by a battery-operated auto-rickshaw in Mirpur, Kushtia.

The accident occurred around 1 pm on Friday in the Kheyarpur Bazar area on the Kushtia-Meherpur highway. The deceased, Abdul Latif, was the former headmaster of Kheyarpur Government Primary School.

Relatives and eyewitnesses said he was going to the mosque by bicycle to offer Jummah prayers. While crossing the road in the Kheyarpur Bazar area, a speeding battery-operated auto-rickshaw hit him. He was seriously injured, and locals took him to Mirpur Upazila Health Complex. There, the doctor declared him dead.

Mirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam said police were sent to the spot after receiving news of the accident. If a complaint is filed, legal action will be taken after investigation.
