He made these remarks as the chief guest at the biennial conference of the Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies at the Institution of Diploma Engineers auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka on Saturday.
Recognition of everyone's contribution essential in inclusive society: Social Welfare Minister
The minister said every person living in society is in some way a worker; only the type and field of work differ. He also said people from all classes and professions are being given importance to build an inclusive and humane Bangladesh.
The Social Welfare Minister also said the government is distributing family cards across the country to ensure social security for marginalised, helpless and destitute people.

At the event, Prime Minister's Adviser Dr. Mahdi Amin said fair wages are a right and entitlement of workers. Mutual trust among workers, owners and the government, and regular tripartite dialogue are essential to ensure sustainable industry and a sound work environment.
At the conference, speakers demanded reforms in labour law, legal recognition for workers, social protection, fair wages, a safe work environment and effective steps to end child labour. Later, the Social Welfare Minister inaugurated the 'Bir Muktijoddha Nazrul Islam Khan Library and BILS Information Centre'.
