Oman will take 10 thousand farmers and fishermen from Bangladesh

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs informed journalists of this information after a meeting with an Omani delegation on Wednesday.

He said the Bangladesh government has held discussions with Oman's Ministry of Agriculture. The country has agreed to take 5,000 farmers and 5,000 fishermen from Bangladesh. A contract has also been signed in this regard.

Shama Obaed Islam informed that an Omani delegation will visit Bangladesh next month. The process of sending workers will be finalized after discussions with the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Meanwhile, the State Minister said the government is also making diplomatic efforts to resume Oman's visa. Noting that Oman's visa is currently suspended for various reasons, he said the government is working to ensure regular opportunities for Bangladeshis to go to Oman through diplomatic efforts.
