The janaza, held after Zuhr prayers on Wednesday, was attended by officials from various government departments in Cumilla, leaders of political parties, people from different walks of life and devout worshippers. After the janaza, Amena Begum was buried in the family graveyard at Paranpur.
After the janaza, special prayers and munajat were held seeking forgiveness for the deceased soul. At that time, the attending worshippers expressed their condolences to the grieving family members.
Earlier, Amena Begum passed away at her residence in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon due to old age. She was 103 years old at the time of death. She left behind four sons, five daughters, and numerous relatives and well-wishers.
Following Amena Begum's death, the President, Prime Minister and leaders of various political parties expressed deep sorrow and prayed for the forgiveness of her departed soul.
