On Thursday morning, Nepal's Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari met State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque at the Secretariat.
Dhaka-Kathmandu wants to strengthen relations through cricket and sports diplomacy
At the meeting, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Bangladesh for their cooperation during the recent floods and natural disasters in Nepal. He said that although political relations between the two countries are good, there is an opportunity to take them further through sports and cultural exchanges.
At that time, Nepal's ambassador proposed organizing a bilateral T20 cricket series between Bangladesh and Nepal. Stating that the Nepal team is ready to visit Bangladesh, he similarly invited the Bangladesh team to visit Nepal.

Responding positively to Nepal's proposal, Aminul Haque said Bangladesh attaches importance to sports diplomacy. He requested Nepal's ambassador to send a formal proposal in this regard. After receiving the proposal, necessary steps will be taken in consultation with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
In addition, the State Minister for Youth and Sports proposed using Nepal's geographical advantages to increase the training and capacity of Bangladeshi athletes. In particular, he called on Nepal for cooperation in various sports, including mountaineering.
