He said, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is giving utmost importance to sports. Under his leadership, along with establishing sports as a profession, efforts are underway to find talented players from the grassroots level and bring them to the national level.

He said these things while speaking as chief guest at the grand final of the Habib Ullah Chokdar Memorial Football Tournament at the Habib Ullah Degree College field in Sakhipur, Shariatpur, on Friday (September 11) afternoon.
Aminul Haque said, the presence of a huge number of spectators at the field proves that people's interest in football and sports in Bangladesh is still very high. Taking advantage of this interest, initiatives are being taken to take the country's sports further ahead.

He informed that there are 4,599 unions in the country. Initiatives have been taken to create opportunities for sports by preserving one field in each union. Besides, the work of constructing a mini stadium in each upazila is also ongoing.
The State Minister for Youth and Sports said, activities have already started to establish sports as a profession. There is a goal to provide opportunities at the national level to talented young people from remote areas of the country as well as the capital or big cities.
Emphasizing keeping the youth away from drugs and crime through sports, he said, young people must be involved in cultural activities alongside sports. Through this, discipline, leadership qualities and human values will develop among them.
Member of Parliament Shafiqur Rahman Kiran and Saeed Ahmed Aslam, along with local political and social leaders, were present at the event.
