Lawyer's body recovered from rented house in capital

The body was recovered around 11:30 am on Saturday from a rented flat on the second floor of a building in the Boubazar area of Shaheednagar.

Police said a tenant in the next room smelled a foul odor and went to check, and found Anwar Hossain dead. Later, after receiving information, police from Lalbagh Police Station went to the scene. CID's Crime Scene Unit was also present at the scene.

Muhammad Anwar Hossain was a lawyer at the Judge Court. His chamber was on the first floor of the annex building of the Dhaka Bar Association. He lived alone in that house. Police said his family lives in a village.

OC Mohammad Jamil Hossain of Lalbagh Police Station said that it is initially believed that he died of a stroke. However, the actual cause of death can be confirmed after receiving the post-mortem report.

Police are carrying out necessary legal procedures, including the inquest. Preparations are underway to send the body to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
