Writ challenging validity of notification banning Awami League's activities dismissed

On Sunday (13 September), the High Court bench of Justice J B M Hasan and Justice Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan dismissed the writ as ‘not moved’. Lawyers said the writ was not acceptable to the court because it was not properly moved.

On 12 May 2025, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification banning all activities of Awami League and its wings and associate organizations. Md. Al Amin, a resident of Sreenagar in Munshiganj, filed the writ challenging the validity of that notification.
