In the release, Chhatra Dal claimed that on March 21, 1948, Muhammad Ali Jinnah spoke in favor of Urdu as the state language of Pakistan at the then Racecourse Ground. In protest, students of the then Dhaka University joined the movement and later the Language Movement developed, the organization noted.

Chhatra Dal said that displaying Jinnah's portrait in DUCSU's archive, which is historically linked to Bengal's autonomy movement, is an insult to the history of the Language Movement and independence.

The release also criticized the activities of DUCSU's current leadership. Chhatra Dal alleged that instead of playing an effective role regarding the accommodation crisis of general students, their rights and the educational environment, attempts are being made to use DUCSU for political and ideological activities.

Chhatra Dal described the initiative to rename Madhur Canteen and the display of Jinnah's portrait in the archive as activities of the same nature. However, the release did not mention any statement from DUCSU's current leadership regarding these allegations.

Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said that Muhammad Ali Jinnah's portrait must be removed from the archive. At the same time, they called for not using DUCSU as a place for practicing the ideology of any particular political group.

The two Chhatra Dal leaders also said they would continue programs with general students to protect the history and heritage of Dhaka University.
