The minister remembered with deep respect Abdul Matin's contribution to the Language Movement and his sacrifice for the mother tongue. He said, the sacrifices and ideals of the Language Movement veterans will forever remain a source of inspiration for the new generation.

The minister handed over a cheque for BDT 5 lakh in financial assistance from the Artists' Welfare Trust to Gulbadan Nessa Monika for her treatment. At the same time, he wished her a speedy recovery.
At that time, the Managing Director of the Artists' Welfare Trust and the two daughters of Language Movement veteran Abdul Matin were present.
