Health Minister Highlights Four Priorities for Health Cooperation in Asia, Including China

The minister highlighted these priorities in his speech at the ‘Boao Forum for Asia Global Health Forum 2026’ conference held in Haikou, China.

He said Bangladesh’s medicines are exported to nearly 160 countries. Bangladesh is interested in working jointly to facilitate the entry of Bangladeshi medicines into the Chinese market, as well as in raw material production, technology transfer, research, and the development of smart health infrastructure.

He emphasized the use of technology in artificial intelligence and digital health systems for disease diagnosis, treatment, medical education, cancer treatment, robotic surgery, and remote patient monitoring. At the same time, he called for increased regional cooperation in elderly-friendly healthcare, rehabilitation and assistive technology, and vaccine research and production.

The minister said the future of Asia’s health sector will depend on how effectively countries can cooperate, innovate, and share joint responsibilities. Senior officials from China, Laos, Egypt, and the World Health Organization participated in the conference.
