Imran Khan is victim of army chief's vendetta, allege his two sons

In an interview with The Guardian, they said that since his arrest in 2023, Imran, who is being held in Adiala Jail, has been kept almost alone in a 6-by-8-foot cell. They also claim they have not been able to speak with or see their father for more than six months. They allege that the vision in his right eye has also deteriorated seriously.

Imran's sons have held Asim Munir particularly responsible for these circumstances. They claim that relations between the two deteriorated after Imran removed Munir from office while he was prime minister, and that measures against him subsequently became harsher. However, this is their allegation; the Pakistan government has denied allegations of mistreatment of Imran.

The government has said Imran is receiving adequate food, opportunities for exercise, family visits, and medical treatment. Meanwhile, after concerns about his health, in August he was taken to hospital for a short time on the Supreme Court's order and later sent back to jail.

Imran's family, lawyers, and party have long expressed concerns about his treatment and imprisonment. Although his two sons have campaigned internationally demanding their father's release, they have said they have no plans to directly join Pakistan's politics.
