On Thursday (September 17), at the inauguration ceremony of the app in the conference room of the Ministry of Land, Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu said that if land offices are brought under the same digital monitoring framework, accountability of officials and employees will increase, as well as transparency in land services and the quality of citizen services will improve.

Geo-fencing technology to ensure attendance at land offices
State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin said that currently a pilot program is being conducted with 919 officials and employees of 610 offices in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Bogura, Rajshahi and Chattogram. After reviewing the experience, this system will be introduced gradually in land offices across the country.
Through the app, attendance can be recorded when entering and leaving the workplace, leave applications can be made, and if necessary, ‘site visit’ registration can be done. If anyone goes outside the designated boundary of the workplace during working hours without an approved reason, the central dashboard will automatically receive a signal.

The State Minister said that regular on-site supervision of field-level land offices is time-consuming. Through location-based online monitoring, verifying and supervising the attendance of officials will be easier and more effective. According to the experience of the pilot program, after completing technical and administrative corrections, there is a plan to bring other land offices under this system quickly.
