Tarique Rahman must decide how he will give up power: Nahid Islam
Opposition Chief Whip and convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP) Nahid Islam has alleged that BNP, after coming to power, is depriving people of their rights and destroying democracy. He said Tarique Rahman must decide how he will give up power.

He said these things at the opening rally of the long march from Dhaka towards Rangpur at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Saturday (September 19) morning.

Nahid Islam said Tarique Rahman must decide whether he will leave the country by helicopter or resign with honor—he himself must decide that. He also remarked that those who destroyed democracy in the past have found their place in the dustbin of history.

Raising allegations that banners and festoons of the 11-party alliance were torn down along the long march route, Nahid Islam said the city corporation also joined BNP leaders and activists in this. However, the mass upsurge of the long march cannot be stopped by tearing banners and festoons.

He further alleged that the current government has also begun using the same laws and institutions through which Sheikh Hasina's government had deprived the people of their rights.
