Prime Minister directs uniform syllabus in all ministries' training

He gave these instructions while presiding over the third meeting of the Governing Body of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on Saturday (September 19).

At the meeting, the Prime Minister said that skills development of the youth is urgent. Although training programs are conducted under various ministries, due to lack of coordination, in many cases these trainings and certificates do not receive the desired recognition.

To solve this problem, he directed the NSDA Governing Body to quickly formulate necessary policies through a small committee and bring the skills development and training programs of all ministries under a uniform framework.

The Prime Minister said that if a uniform and internationally standard training and certification system can be introduced, it will increase the skills of the country's youth as well as their acceptability and recognition in the national and international labor markets.

At the meeting, discussions were held on NSDA's administrative structure, manpower and activities, as well as the National Skills Development Policy and Strategy, creation of skilled human resources according to labor market demand, sector-based skills demand, and short, medium and long-term action plans.

At that time, issues of improving training quality, certification and mutual recognition of certificates were also discussed. Several ministers, advisers, state ministers, senior officials of the Prime Minister's Office, the Executive Chairman of NSDA, and secretaries and concerned officials of various ministries were present at the meeting.
