If any attempt is made to attack Mecca and Medina, global Muslims will forge united resistance: Religious Minister

In a statement sent to the media, he said, Mecca al-Mukarramah and Medina al-Munawwarah are the most revered holy sites of the global Muslim ummah. Any threat to the security and sanctity of these two cities is in no way acceptable.

Expressing support for the statements of the two imams of the holy Haramain, the religious minister said that protecting the sanctity and security of Mecca and Medina is the collective responsibility of the Muslim ummah. He called for unitedly resisting any aggression or conspiracy against the holy land.

He said, on the question of protecting the security, dignity and sanctity of Mecca and Medina, the people of Bangladesh are uncompromising. In this regard, he called upon the Muslim states and the Muslim ummah of the world to forget differences and become united.

In the statement, the religious minister wished for the overall security of the two holy cities and the peace, solidarity and welfare of the global Muslim ummah.
