At a press conference organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (September 20), the Foreign Secretary gave this information about the Prime Minister's entourage. He said that on this visit, the United Nations program will be the main priority.
Among the members of the entourage are four ministers and two political figures. The Foreign Secretary also said that the Foreign Minister and Bangladesh's Permanent Representative in Washington will join the Prime Minister in New York.
Regarding the security of the Prime Minister and the members of the entourage, Asad Alam Siam said that necessary measures have been taken for security. Regular communication and discussions are ongoing with the appropriate US authorities in this regard, so that everyone's security can be ensured.
He further said that the Prime Minister will stay in New York as long as necessary to complete the visit effectively. Making proper use of the visit is more important than the duration of the visit.
It is learned that among the Prime Minister's entourage are Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Dr. Golam Mohiuddin, General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, and Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman.
Prime Minister Tarek Rahman is scheduled to deliver a speech in Bengali at the United Nations General Assembly session on September 24. After that, he is scheduled to leave New York for Dhaka on September 25.
