On Sunday (September 20) afternoon, the program was held at the Krishnapur, Aringail and Mallikbain three-way intersection of Parshwadanga Union of the upazila. Organizers said the program was organized in protest against threats from Omar Ali and his associates, who are accused of drug trading.

At the human chain, speakers alleged that Omar Ali has been involved in drug trading in the area for a long time. Due to him, people of various ages, including children and adolescents, are becoming addicted to drugs, and theft and disorder are increasing in the area. They demanded that the administration investigate the allegations and take necessary measures.

Speakers also said that social awareness must be built in every ward and village to prevent drugs. At the same time, they called on parents to be more aware to keep their children away from drugs.

Earlier, more than five hundred people from Mahila, Mallikpur, Krishnapur, Aringail, Mallikbain and Barokna villages brought out a protest procession from in front of Mallikbain Dakhil Madrasa. The procession paraded the main road of the area.
