On Monday, during a courtesy meeting between Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and outgoing Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen at the Secretariat, these issues were discussed. The meeting covered various aspects of security, combating cybercrime, training, and enhancing technological capacity.
The ambassador said that over the past two years, China has provided training to more than a hundred Bangladeshi law enforcement personnel on cybercrime, public safety, traffic, immigration, and United Nations peacekeeping missions.
The home minister said that initiatives have been taken to establish a specialized cyber security unit in the police and digital forensic and cyber labs at various levels. A five-member delegation led by the CID will be sent to China to inspect China's cyber labs and technology.
The meeting also discussed ensuring the security of Chinese nationals, businessmen, and investors working in Bangladesh. The home minister reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring their maximum security.
