Government committed to making Bangladesh leprosy-free by 2030: Health Minister

He said this in his speech as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a joint leprosy monitoring mission at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The health minister said that although Bangladesh remains at risk of infectious diseases such as leprosy due to population density, doctors are working with dedication despite various limitations. He also praised the Sasakawa Health Foundation and NGO partners for their cooperation in eliminating leprosy.

Reaffirming the government's commitment, he said that necessary initiatives will continue to build a leprosy-free Bangladesh by 2030 as per the Prime Minister's directives.
