'No IMF condition to raise fuel oil prices'

He said this in reply to a question at a press briefing on the progress of various government activities held in the conference room of the Department of Information at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Regarding the Prime Minister's participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the adviser said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will participate in high-level meetings on various issues including the Rohingya crisis, climate change, global inequality and maternal and newborn health. He will also meet with world leaders and participate in various programs.

On 23 September, at a side event organized on the Rohingya crisis, the Prime Minister will seek effective cooperation from the international community for the speedy repatriation of the Rohingyas to Myanmar. On the same day, he will also participate in two high-level meetings on global inequality and climate change.

Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman said that due to various global crises, international attention to the Rohingya issue has somewhat decreased. Due to providing assistance to the Rohingyas for a long time, Bangladesh's economic pressure is increasing. At the same time, it has created a major security risk for the country. Through the Prime Minister's visit, he will try to refocus the world community's attention on this crisis.
