Earlier, this holiday was scheduled for September 24, but after the decision on moon sighting, the date was changed to September 23. The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (September 20).

Government and private primary and secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical educational institutions will be under the holiday. However, university holidays will depend on the administrative decision of the relevant authority.

‘Yazdaham’ is a Persian word, meaning eleven. Fateha-e-Yazdaham is observed on the 11th of Rabi-us-Sani in the Hijri calendar. The day has been observed in South Asia as the death anniversary of Boro Pir Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA). The day is also known as ‘Geyarhvi Sharif’.
