On Tuesday (September 22), the organization published the progress of the 180-day plan. Under the plan, progress has been made on 20 initiatives including ports, economic zones, infrastructure and investment services.
Among these, the foundation stone of the $550 million Laldia Container Terminal and the Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone has been laid. A memorandum of understanding has also been signed with a Chinese company for the development of Mongla Economic Zone.
An FDI incentive scheme has been approved to attract foreign investment. Alongside, initiatives have advanced for 24-hour operations at Chattogram Port and the launch of the third terminal at Dhaka Airport.
Among the potential investments in the pipeline, there are $600 million from China, $300 million from the Middle East, $200 million from the United States, and $100 million from South Korea.
