In a notification issued on Wednesday (September 23) by the Road Transport and Highways Division, it was said that in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas, bus fares have increased from Tk 2.53 per kilometer to Tk 2.70, and long-distance bus and minibus fares from Tk 2.23 to Tk 2.40.

Notification issued raising bus fares
The fares for minibuses in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas and for buses and minibuses in areas under DTCA have been increased from Tk 2.43 per kilometer to Tk 2.60. The minimum fares for buses and minibuses in metropolitan areas have been fixed at Tk 10 and Tk 8 respectively.
The notification stated that the new fares will not apply to gas-powered buses and minibuses. The prescribed fare list must be displayed in a visible place in every bus and minibus.
