Preparations for Bangladesh's participation in COP-31 conference intensified

The meeting, held on Wednesday in the conference room of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, was chaired by the Ministry's Acting Secretary Dr. Fahmida Khanam. The meeting discussed Bangladesh's preparations for the conference, the country's position in international climate negotiations, organizing the Bangladesh Pavilion and side events, and the participation of the delegation.

The meeting reviewed progress in finalizing Bangladesh's draft position paper and in preparing technical reports and policy briefs on just transition, the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, regional cooperation and early warning systems.

There are plans to highlight Bangladesh's climate risks, adaptation experience, NDC 3.0, National Adaptation Plan, climate finance, loss and damage, renewable energy and nature-based solutions at the COP-31 pavilion.

Besides, the meeting was presented with the logistical preparations, including registration, visa, travel and accommodation for the delegation, and the progress of the activities of three subcommittees.

The COP-31 conference will be held in Antalya, Turkey, from November 9 to 20. As part of it, a summit of world leaders is scheduled to be held on November 11 and 12.
