He made this call while speaking as the chief guest at a reception organized by ‘Bandarban Businessmen Unity Council’ at the Bandarban Sadar Upazila Conference Hall on Wednesday.
The minister said that local people must be directly involved so that the benefits of the tourism sector reach them. At the same time, coordination among the relevant government departments needs to be strengthened to ensure environmental protection and sustainable tourism.
He emphasized ensuring the cleanliness of hotels, motels, kitchens and toilets, and providing professional behavior and hospitality to domestic and foreign tourists to develop Bandarban as an ideal tourist city.
Highlighting the potential of the agriculture and livestock sectors, Saching Pru said initiatives are being taken to increase the production of promising agricultural products including cashew nuts, coffee, ginger, turmeric and pineapple, and to expand the use of modern technology in hill agriculture. Through this, opportunities will be created to involve farmers of the hill region more in the country's mainstream economy.
Bandarban District Commissioner Md. Saniul Ferdous, Municipal Administrator S M Monzurul Haque and Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Marufa Sultana Khan Hira, along with representatives of the local administration and business organizations, were present at the event.
