He made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a cheque distribution ceremony for financial assistance among flood-affected families at the Baharchhara Union Parishad premises in Banshkhali on Thursday.

Do not threaten BNP; BNP does not care about anyone's threat
Mir Shahe Alam said that BNP founder Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman created history by delivering speeches at the United Nations. He also remarked that they are proud as workers of this party.
Criticizing BNP's political opponents, the state minister said that during the flood a leader came to Banshkhali and stepped into the water, but could not provide any assistance to the affected people. On the other hand, he claimed that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stood by the flood-affected people and took initiatives for their rehabilitation.

At the event, cheques totaling Tk 1 crore 53 lakh, at Tk 30,000 each, were distributed among 510 flood-affected families for house construction and rehabilitation. The assistance is being provided under an initiative of the Chattogram District Council.
Chattogram District Council Administrator Mahbubur Rahman Shamim, Head of NGO Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Mohammad Zakaria, Member of Parliament for Patiya Enamul Haque, the Chattogram Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, and officials from various levels of BNP and the administration were present at the event.
