On Thursday, the MoU was signed between the culture ministries of the two countries at the ongoing 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum. Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury signed it on behalf of Bangladesh.

MoU signed between Bangladesh and Russia on cultural cooperation
Under the MoU, emphasis has been placed on cultural exchange, heritage preservation, arts and culture, museums, archaeology, and expanding areas of creative cooperation. It is hoped that this will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
At the forum, Nitai Roy Chowdhury had a courtesy meeting with Myanmar's Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. During the meeting, discussions were held on the archaeological artifacts, Buddhist heritage, and cultural features of the two countries.

On the second day of the forum, the cultural minister will deliver the keynote speech at a session titled ‘Folk Artisan Craftwork Rebooted’. There he will highlight the potential of Bangladesh's folk art, handicrafts, and traditional crafts. In addition, in an interview with Russia's international media outlet Sputnik International, he is scheduled to highlight Bangladesh's cultural heritage and diversity.
To participate in the forum to be held from 24 to 26 September, a three-member Bangladeshi delegation led by the minister left Dhaka on 22 September. They are scheduled to return home on 28 September after the visit.
