He made the call on September 23 at a high-level conference titled ‘Multiply Possibility: A New Era for Education Financing’ organized by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event was jointly organized by the Permanent Missions of Italy and Nigeria to the United Nations and GPE on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The State Minister said Bangladesh is working to ensure quality, inclusive and future-oriented primary education for every child. The government's goal is to ensure not only students' attendance at school, but also effective learning and future employability.

On the sidelines of the conference, Bobby Hajjaj met with GPE Deputy Chief Executive Officer Charles North. There, he called for further expansion of GPE's cooperation to improve the quality of primary education, teacher development, technology-driven monitoring and increase students' learning outcomes.

Charles North praised Bangladesh's priorities and ongoing initiatives in the primary education sector and gave a positive assurance about continuing cooperation and expanding its scope in the future. At that time, the State Minister invited GPE CEO Laura Frigenti and Charles North to visit Bangladesh.

It may be mentioned that in 2026 Bangladesh has secured a grant of US$98.85 million from GPE. The State Minister participated in the high-level conference with the aim of further expanding this cooperation in the education sector.
