Alongside infrastructure, improving the quality of education is essential: Labour Minister

He said this while laying the foundation stones for and inspecting the development work of various educational institutions in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet. The minister said that in keeping with the government's emphasis on the education sector, importance must be given to improving education alongside infrastructural development.

During the day's programme, he laid the foundation stones of the one-storey building of Pukash High School and the four-storey building of Gurukchi High School. Later, he inaugurated the Smart IT Lab and the orientation class for Class XI at Gowainghat Government College and took part in the anniversary event of the college's literary and cultural organisation.

At the college event, Ariful Haque Chowdhury praised the high attendance and participation of female students and urged male students to be more attentive to their studies. He said that if students' interest in ICT increases, the Smart IT Lab will be expanded further. He also said that necessary measures would be taken to build a hostel for female students.

Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Numeri Jaman, Deputy Secretary Mohammad Shamsul Islam, Principal of Gowainghat Government College Habibur Rahman, along with teachers, students and local dignitaries, were present at the event.
