He said these things while speaking as chief guest at a courtesy exchange meeting with journalists at Cox's Bazar Press Club on Thursday (September 25).

The minister said Cox's Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts are geographically and socially linked to each other. He said he would work to advance the country's tourism sector, including Cox's Bazar and Bandarban, and to highlight its potential at home and abroad.

Regarding drugs, Saching Pru said that because drugs enter by road and waterways through the border, it is spreading throughout the country. To prevent drugs, prevention committees need to be formed in neighborhoods at the call of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and coordinated initiatives by all relevant parties are needed.

Regarding the Rohingya crisis and border crimes, he said there are allegations that a section of Rohingyas is getting involved in crimes such as drug trafficking, smuggling, trafficking of women and arms trafficking. He said that to address these problems, specific proposals would be prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, law enforcement agencies and journalists, and presented to the Prime Minister.

Regarding the development of Cox's Bazar, the minister said Cox's Bazar would be transformed into a world-class modern tourist city through implementation of the master plan. He emphasized increasing tourism potential by utilizing the natural diversity of hills and sea.

Calling on journalists to report objective news, Saching Pru said the media plays an important role in the country's peace, harmony and development. Local journalist leaders from Cox's Bazar and Bandarban, along with senior journalists, were present at the exchange meeting.
