On September 21, the Prime Minister went to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session. This was his first participation in a United Nations General Assembly session as Prime Minister.

During the visit, in addition to delivering a speech on behalf of Bangladesh in the general debate, he participated in various high-level meetings and events on climate change and rising sea levels, the Rohingya crisis, and maternal and newborn healthcare.
On the sidelines of the session, the Prime Minister met with government and state leaders of various countries and top officials of international organizations. In these meetings, various issues including bilateral relations, trade and investment, development cooperation, climate change, and the Rohingya crisis were discussed.

On the last day of the visit, the Prime Minister attended a breakfast meeting with business representatives on Wall Street hosted by JP Morgan. There, Bangladesh's business, investment, and economic potential were discussed. Later, he exchanged greetings with expatriate BNP leaders and activists at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir held a press conference at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in the United States. The flight carrying the Prime Minister is scheduled to land in Dhaka at 8:30 am Bangladesh time on September 27.
