To mark the occasion, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Tourist Police, district administrations, private tourism-related organisations, hotels and resorts, tour operators, universities, and various other stakeholders will participate in the programmes.

World Tourism Day 2026 to Be Celebrated with Week-Long Colourful Programme
The event will begin with a rally at the Tourism Building in West Agargaon on September 27. The rally will be inaugurated at 9 AM by Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. Later, a cycle rally and a city tour for underprivileged children, organised by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, will be held.
On September 28, an exchange meeting with tourism stakeholders will be held, and on September 30, a discussion with diplomats from various countries will take place on tourism cooperation and inbound tourism.

The main event of the day will be held on October 3 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. There, 12 thematic exhibition stalls will showcase the country's heritage, culture, food, GI products, handicrafts, the lifestyles of small ethnic communities, and various tourist destinations. The potential of using artificial intelligence to enhance tourism experiences will also be demonstrated.
On the same day, a discussion titled "Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in the Future of Tourism" will be held, with participation from tourism sector stakeholders and experts. A video message from the Secretary-General of UN Tourism will also be broadcast at the event.
For the first time, the "Bangladesh Tourism Award 2026" will be presented in 13 categories. The award will be given to individuals, institutions, and initiatives for contributions to sustainable development in tourism, service quality improvement, innovation, digital transformation, local community participation, and the preservation of the environment and cultural heritage.
The Chief Guest at the main event will be Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat. The event will conclude with a cultural programme organised in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
