He reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:40 am on Sunday (September 27). His wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman and travel companions also returned home with the Prime Minister.

Earlier, at 11:30 pm New York time on Saturday, the Prime Minister departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport for Dhaka via Dubai on an Emirates flight.

During the visit, he addressed the general debate of the UN General Assembly in Bangla for the first time. In his September 24 speech, he highlighted Bangladesh's position on various issues, including global peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, humanitarian crises, economic cooperation and the Rohingya crisis.

The Prime Minister emphasized safe and dignified repatriation as a permanent solution to the Rohingya crisis. During the visit, he also held separate meetings with the UN Special Envoy on Myanmar, Julie Bishop, and UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih.
